QuestionDo you know what guitars/amps the Pumpkins used? I'm especially curious about the song "Aeroplane Flies High". Any help you could give would help a lot. Thanks.
AnswerWhile there is not a terrible lot of information on what songs specific equipment was used on, there is a listing of a majority of the equipment at
http://spfc.org/band/equipment.html
According to the site," the basic sound of MCIS was a Marshall JMP-1 preamp combined with an Alesis 3630 compressor into two Mesa/Boogie Strategy 500 power amps. "
I also know that Billy used, up until the Adore album, almost entirely strats, and by then he was using his '57 reissue. It has a maple fretboard, and his favorite single coils, lace sensors. It's the one with "I Love My Mom" written on it. Hope this helps!
