About Jason Musgrove
Expertise
I`ve been a fan of The Smashing Pumpkins since 1993, and I have all the albums and U.S. CD singles. I can answer just about any question concerning the band`s beginning, how they picked their name, bios of the members, lyrics, discography, soundtracks, some personal info, and other news. I cannot answer questions about their tours.

Smashing Pumpkins - Rare Song?

Question
Hey do you know the name and/or lyrics to a song off of their i believe B-Side cd called solitaire smoething or something with cards in it and if possible where i can find the song at?
thanks

Answer
There were 2 B-side CDs released by SP.  The first being Pisces Iscariot.  Nothing in there about solitaire or cards though.  So Im guessing the one you're thinking of is a song off of Judas O, SP's second B-side CD, called Marquis in Spades.

An excellent song!  One of my favorites for sure.  Here are the lyrics:

["Rolling..." "I was just on another planet for a sec..."
"Run it back, Mole... (amp on) ...fucker..."]

and i'd love you to notice
i'm devoted
to destroy for no one
now it's that time again to take revenge
on all the debutantes and their friends
the bitter charlemagnes so self-absorbed
the bodily remains such a bore

hey, yeah
was i good enough to break you
hey, yeah

and all i see is empty
'cause now i'm one of them
so adored
the slink of impotence
that money can afford
we know who you are and where you live
is your innocence all that you can give

hey, yeah
was i good enough to break you
hey, yeah

in the back of the car
the angel dust was given back to the stars

hey, yeah
was i good enough to break you
hey, yeah

and in this fall from grace
we'll meet again
another time another place
i've been down deep in you and me
let's see where we can go
yeah yeah yeah
angels, barbed wire
fuck you, desire

The song is most easily obtained from Judas O, which was released with their most recent greatest hits album, Rotten Apples, as a 2-CD set.  It was originally a b-side to the Zero single (this may still be in circulation) which ended up in The Aeroplane Flies High box set. (The box set, Im led to believe, is sold out and only obtainable today on eBay however.)

Enjoy! :D
