I cannot answer questions about their tours.
I have to think that at some point the band will reform. If anything, Billy, James, and Jimmy, without D'arcy. D'arcy has become pretty quiet in her endeavors. Last I knew she was in Michigan still but also in Texas doing something or another.
D'arcy seems to have been the key in the band breaking up since Billy mentioned on BillyCorgan.com that James is the one who didn't want to go on. It's pretty sad because like you, I grew up on the Pumpkins when I was in high school back in the early-mid 90's.
Answer Thats a good question Jeff, and its one that Im sure many Pumpkin fans have wondered. But since we dont know any of Billys, James, or Jimmys personal thoughts, we can only guess at what will happen.
Billys life is making music. Its easy to see that he loves making it, whether being in SP or Zwan or making movie soundtracks or collaborations or solo work. He would be the first to suggest and the first to sign up for a Pumpkins reunion of course.
Jimmy has already stated that he would be by Billy's side for the long run, since Billy had forgiven him and let him back in the Pumpkins. He was there for him in Zwan and the two have nothing but good things to say about each other.
James is another matter. If what Billy says is true, that James was the root cause of the breakup of SP, then what we have to wonder is what his current relationship is with Billy. We can guess thats not so great at the moment. The last Ive heard was from an interview with Billy from pop music critic 'The Plain Dealer' which I found on http://www.jamesiha.org/ dated Oct. 20th.
"My relationship with [Pumpkins drummer] Jimmy Chamberlin is great," Corgan says. "I know we'll work together again. But my relationships with James [Iha, guitarist] and D'Arcy [Wretzky, basssist] are piss beyond poor, so read into that whatever you want."
What I read into it is that Billy would take them back, but James and D'arcy wouldnt come back. So I would say that a reunion with James and/or D'arcy isnt going to happen.
But you never know. They say time heals all wounds. We can only hope.
