Soccer (American), Football (European) - Landon donovan

Expert: Stuart Young - 7/13/2009

Question
Hi, landon donovan had an impressive confed cup. What clubs are looking at him and do you think he will go to europe this summer.

Answer
Hi Sonny,

Yes Landon Donovan did have a very good Confederations Cup last month. He looked good against all the teams he played against.

Donovan has been selected in the MLS all-star team for the 9th time in his career yet the interest from Europe has been very dormant. Fulham and Everton showed some interest a few weeks back when the Confederations Cup was still on, but that was probably just paper talk.

I heard yesterday that Atletico Madrid are interested in signing him, but again that will just be speculation.

He's a good player and should be looking to play at the next level. A move to England would be the best option.

I'm sorry I could not find more information for you. It's a bit quiet over here regarding transfers unless you support Manchester City or Real Madrid.

Thanks,

Stuart
