Question
When a donation is made to a nonprofit organization in someone's honor should you mention the donation amount in the acknowlegement letter/card that is sent to the person who the donation was made in honor of.

Answer
Dear Ms. Casalina,
Thanks for asking this very good question. The answer is no. Often times such donations are made as memorial donations for funerals in lieu of flowers. I have seen organizations send the family a note acknowledging gifts from a list a of people but never mentioning monetary amounts. It is confidential. I hope this helps. Jay
