Question A friend of mine invited me to her bridal shower. My question is, should I buy a gift from the registry for the shower AND the reception? I had considered buying her lingerie, but both my grandmother and her entire family will be at the church bridal shower. Thanks for your help!
Answer Dear Roselyn,
A registry may be looked upon as a list of suggestions. You do not
need to follow it at all. If the budget will only allow for one gift,
that's fine as well. No one ever has to pay for the privilege of
being invited to any celebration.
Lingerie is a word that covers everything from bed jackets (an
item so dull there was a whole Andy Griffith episode devoted to
Aunt Bea wanting one for her birthday..)to bustiers. So,yes, you
can get her lingerie, just be very careful. A multi-generational
bridal shower held in a church is no place for controversy.
