Question
I live with my boyfriend but generally I sign birthday cards to my family etc with just my name. Is this not proper? I feel once we are married I would sign both our names as a couple.

Dear Maria,
Clearly your family members know that the two of you live together,so if you want to sign
both names,you certainly may. As to "what is proper" either signing jointly or singly is
fine,it's merely a matter of preference.
