Question I am going to my granddaughters first dance recital and she is 3 years old. Do I bring her a gift ? I am new at this.
Answer Dear Brenda:
Thank you for your question regarding protocol for children's dance recital.
Traditionally, a bouquet of flowers are presented to the dancers after the recital. However, since this is a children's recital, sometimes the dance instructor sends a list of rules and regulations to the parents saying that flowers, presents, etc are not to be exchanged at or during the program.
You might want to check with your granddaughter's parents just to double-check. Other than that, a small bouquet for a budding ballerina will be appropriate.
Or if you prefer to mark the occasion with something memorable, a ceramic flower, silk flowers, etc. I hope this helps and I wish you and your granddaughter a fabulous time!
