Question What is the proper wording to use in thanking someone who has sent a check or cash as a wedding gift? Should you say, "Thank you for the (check/cash)", or just say, "Thank you for your gift"? I then thought it would be nice to mention how the money will be used or what it will be going towards.
Answer Dear Karen,
You are definitely on the right track. A hand written note thanking them for the money - if it's cash it's good to mention so they know you got the intended amount - and mentioning what you will use it for will be most appropriate. The exact wording should be your own as the message must be heartfelt. I hope this helps. Jay
