Question
My mom passed away on Christmas day last year. My husband asked if I was sending out cards this year. I've been told I should not send cards to her siblings. I'm not sure the reason I remember my mom telling me not to send cards when one of her sisters passed. Should I send cards?

Answer
Dear Patricia,
I can think of no reason why you should not send out cards if you wish to do so.
As the holiday coincides with this first anniversary of your shared loss, perhaps it
would be a good idea to write a line or two acknowledging this.

I am so very sorry for your loss,
