Soil Issues/Leveling Pool Site

Question
Hi James: We're preparing a dirt site for a pool. Moved a lot of dirt to fill in a pit
to get it fairly level. It rained after that and now dirt is compacted and un-
rakable. Still needs precise leveling. If I wet it again that will turn the top 2 or 3"
to mud and I can smooth it out ? Will this work ?      Thank you, Glenn

Answer
Hi Glenn, It should work, just a bit messy to work with.  I might suggest that you do the rest of the leveling with sand.  You probably want sand under your liner anyway, so if we're talking about less than a couple of inches, sand is a lot easier to work with.  Jim
