I have the same in our potted herb garden (thyme, basil, oregano, mint etc.) We also used Miracle Gro soil. Are the fungicide products you are describing safe for such application or should be replace the soil for next year to get rid of the problem?

Same problem with Miracle Grow at my house.  Although it has caused droopy leaves on my tomatoes, and cucumber.  Killed my zinnia seedlings. Two years in a row the problem has been present.  Tried research on the topic, and read that whey (the fluid floating above your yogurt) in a 1:10 ration with water, sprayed on the soil surface, and exposed to sunlight will help.  If wasn't warm enough here in Canada to put the plants out until very late in the problem, so I may be out of luck.  You might as well try that solution.
