Question
Adrian, could you tell me how to make the following statements.

1]When speaking of appearance is mirar the proper verb to use. Such as tu miras bonita, el mira cansado, ella mira joven.

2]How would you say "its good to hear from you"

3]How would you say "I can tell" not meaning to tell something, but to be aware of something without being told.

4]how do you state 'in the not too distant future'

5]and finally "whatever you want"

muchas gracias.

Answer
Hi Terry:

1) It is quite common to hear "te miras cansado" among US Hispanic population, and because some families have use it for generations, they will swear that is correct. but since mirar, is the equivalent to watch, You would be saying "You watch good".

The correct translation for "You look good" is "Te ves bien"

2) You would say "Me da gusto saber de ti" (Brings me Joy to know about you)

3) In Spanish you would say: Me doy cuenta.  (I become aware)

4) You would say: "En un futuro no muy lejano" ( In a future not very distant)

5) whatever you want "Lo que quieras"
However you want "como quieras"
Whenever you want "Cuando quieras"

Let me know if you have any questions or if you need anything else.

Saludos
