Question
Hi Adrian,

If bald (hairless on top of one's head) is "calvo," how do you describe someone who is totally hairless in the head like Michael Jordan? I heard that they have another term for that. Thanks.

Francis

Answer
Hi Francis, Thanks for asking:

"Calvo" is the word used to call somebody that is totally or almost totally bald. "calvicie" or "alopecia" is the word to describe the condition.

"Pelon" is a generic and common term used to call someone that is:
totally bald, Shaved, partially bold, or even with really short hair.

"Lampiņo" is called somebody that grows little or no hair in parts like chest, armpits etc.

"tricotilomania" is a pathology, for those who pull their hair off. A person who does this is called "tricotilomano"

Let me know if you need more information or if this is not what you had in mind

saludos!
