Speaking & Making Presentations - Inaudible Voice

Expert: Doug Staneart - 9/15/2006

Question
My voice volume is so low that people often ask me to repeat what I said. I speak from throat with nasal tone. Please suggest me some good vocal exercises or relevant websites. I will be very grateful.

Answer
Prasad,

It's not your voice that is the problem.  It's fear.  You're nervous, so you speak more softly.  The easy solution is to just speak louder.  You don't need a book or website to tell you that.

I'd suggest that you attend a good public speaking class to eliminate your nervousness.  Then, your volume will come up naturally.
