Question Dear Mr. Staneart,
I work as a network engineer at Internet Provider company and I have really dificulties with overcoming nervousness or anxiety associated with public speaking, what should I do to be open minded, fluent at making speeches and presentations, thanks in advance
Answer Dilshod,
What you are feeling is normal. Everyone gets nervous when they begin to speak in front of a group, because it is a new skill that we have to have success at in order to become more confident.
When kids get on a bike for the first time, they are nervous, but over time, it becomes second nature. Same thing with driving a car. Public speaking is the same way.
The best thing that you can do is to get someone to coach you (or you can coach yourself, but it will take longer.)
If you want to coach yourself, after each presentation you make, write down at least three things you did well -- not three things you want to improve, but three things you did well. Before each new speech, go back and look at all your old cards with the things you did well. after a few speeches, you'll begin to build confidence pretty quickly
