Question
QUESTION: hello im Zack!
i previously asked you a question regarding myself restricting my calorie intake to 1200 cals aday.

You answered really brilliantly so i though id ask you another question, so here goes...

Basicaly im underweight. but i like my body looking the way it dose, however iv concluded that health has priority over my own vainity and as of tommorow will be eating 1500 cals aday.

is this okay? is it to much / little?

i exercise lightly
thankyou for your time and i hope to hear from you soon.
:)

ANSWER: Zack-
I think I remember answering your previous question. If you gave me your height, weight, age, and amount you exercise, I probably gave you a calorie range. If I remember you, you were tall, skinny, and young-in which case, 1500 calories is not enough. If you're less than about 20 years old (for guys) then you aren't done growing, and restricting your calories so low will actually stunt your growth and keep you from ever reaching your full height. Most teen boys need about 2,500 calories daily-more if they exercise. If you want a more specific number, then feel free to ask me another question.

QUESTION: thankyou for your speedy reply,

im 5ft2 and somthing, weigh 78 pounds and try to do light exercise minimal 3 times a week eg. half an hour breaststroke swimmig.

thanks once agein.

Answer
Zack,
First off, you're dangerously underweight. You need to talk to a doctor about your weight right away. You may have a very serious health problem.
Second, you need to eat quite a bit more than you are right now. If you're not sure you can do that, then it's all the more reason to make an appointment to see your doctor right away. You don't need to tell your parents you're going to see a doctor or take them with you-your doctor can help you out without telling your parents.
