Question
My husband needs to lose weight of possibly 40 pounds.  I need to gain weight of possibly 5-10.  How do I prepare meals and start an exercise program that will address both our needs?

Answer
Hello,

In fact, it isn't that difficult because the difference can be rather quantitive than qualitative (unless you want to gain fat, not muscle, which I doubt)

The problem is, how do  you choose a plan. Without knowing your food preferences, dieting history, fitness level, and health condition(s) I cant give you a concrete advice.

Another thing: it shouldn't be a one-time, quick fix advice, it has to be an educational process. So, here are three sources you might want to consider that indeed offer educational approach to your problem and which I  personally trust - I'm giving you URLs to take a look. Please don't hesitate asking me further questions after you have your opinion:

I am in neurophysiology since 1972, my research started with studies of neuronal interactions in the hypothalamic centers of hunger and satiety. I worked for 20 years in interdisciplinary teams, with physicists and mathematicians, as an expert in neuroscience preparing conceptual models of brain regulatory systems for their further implications in larger-scale mathematical and computer modeling. Since 2007, I focus on the metabolic aspects of neuroprotection.
