Special Diets - mixing foods

Expert: Awdhesh K Singh - 5/26/2007

Question
Can mixing fresh fruits with vegetables, and  dairy with vegetables cause digestive discomfort ie.gas and other related  stomach problems?

Answer
I think it is OK to consume foods which are of different types. It provides a complete diet. However, some experts like Harvey Diamond, differs with this concept and advocate for consumption of similar type of food at a time. However, there is no scientific evidence in my knowledge which establish this theory. The key is to consume the food in lighter amount and do not mix the food which are opposite in nature (hot and cold, acidic and basic).
