QuestionQUESTION: I got this cast Iron Singer Treadle from a thrift store? I'm not sure if i spelled the name correct? but neverless, the model # is G6005001 and i haven't seen anyone else that has those numbers. Could you give me some info and if it is worth anything.
ANSWER: Hi Shannon,
Most of the old sewing machines are worth sentimental value and not as much in monumental value. Some people want old treadle machines just to look at and to have around. If you are looking to see what it is worth as an antique then go to an antique dealer and see if you can get a value on it because if you just go by sewing machine value then it is probably worth $100-150 if it is in average condition.
Sorry that I can not be of more assistance other than this,
Mark

QUESTION: Thanks for the info, but I'm not sure if your basing value on just the machine its self or the cast iron treadle and its logo "SINGER" entailed in the cast iron? Basically, the folding table and drawers are mounted onto the cast iron frame, legs and it even has wheels???? I do not have plans on selling it, do to I'm an avid sewer myself.... Was just wondering if the original machine and Table Named "Singer MANFG CO." was included in the valued price?? Thank you in advance for your time
AnswerShannon,
I have based this on the sewing machine and cabinet value. If you are looking for a collectors value then you will need to speak to an antique dealer. I am a sewing machine guy and am not qualified to give antique values. I can only give you a value based on what it would sale for at a sewing machine shop to a regular sewer who would want one. Check with an antique dealer who would be be qualified to give antique value.
Make it a Great Day!!
