Question Hi, I'm a grad student and am really interested in making sure I understand the possibilities of treatment for w/r substitutions particularly in the adolescent population. I am aware of making sure the client is aware of the difference between w and r but I am having a lot of questions regarding what other things I can initiate in treatment. And particularly EFFECTIVE treatment.
Any suggestions or direction to research available/websites would be so helpful!
Thanks!
Answer Hello Kennedy-
Well, I can't tell you how long it's been since I have done r/l/s work! I am hospital based now and before that it was preschool and SNF's. I think I have done a very good job of avoiding having to address those sounds the past 20 years!
I will tell you some of the cont ed I have done over the years when I was in California that I enjoyed and had some success with at the elem level. You will have to do the research to see if recent studies have determined efficacy as I took these courses about 10 years ago (but they are still being actively taught)

There are probably newer methods but as I said I haven't been treating that population since then and have been focused elsewhere.
Good Luck-
