Subject: Reunion tour questions!
Question Hi,
Just a few quick question, for the sake of my Media Writing Final!!
I'm a advertising major and English minor. I have a big project due for my
media writing final and I chose to do the Spice Girls recent concert tour, since
I went to the Chicago concert and loved it! We have to write a few articles and
present them in class basically.
The problem is I have been have a lot of trouble getting a contact for this
project. Could you PLEASE answer a few question or direct me to someone
who might be able to help me out! I honestly only need a few quotes so I can
get a good grade! So whatever information you can give me would be
appreciated!
Was this good timing for a reunion concert?
What elements contributed to the success of the concert?
Did you think the girls enjoy the reunion tour?
What aspects of the girls and their music has changed in 10 years?
**Really anything you can say that has anything to do with the concert would
be amazing!!
Thanks,
Casey
Answer Hi Casey,
these answers are just my opinion, though I'm quite familiar with the group and how it has progressed over the years.
Was this good timing for a reunion concert?
Yes, because the 5 girls (well women) are in their mid-thirties and still look great and they are still young enough to be fit. If they had waited a few more years, they may have been seen as older or not as sexy. Plus their young fanbase from their most popular years are now in their late teens or young twenties and most can afford to see them. So there was a lot of interest and demand. Plus Geri (Ginger Spice) was now interested again in performing with the group.
What elements contributed to the success of the concert?
It was well marketed and communicated. They brought back their old manager Simon Fuller who knows the market and audience very well. It was also just a great show, quite Broadway-like, and visually appealing and enjoyable. Plus they got Jamie King, who has directed Madonna's tours, to direct this one, so they had a good management team to help them.
Did you think the girls enjoy the reunion tour?
absolutely, they all seemed to love being on stage again, as a group. Young enough to do it and enjoy it, but old enough to appreciate it all over again.
What aspects of the girls and their music has changed in 10 years?
Their music is still the same. They only did 2 brand new songs and then they did all their original music (along with a 70s medley). in terms of change, 4 of them are now mothers (sporty spice is the only one without a child or children), so they have a new perspective and focus in life.
I hope this is helpful, good luck!
Angie
