Answer I would believe that the statement is correct. While the other Brit bands you've mentioned has enjoyed some success, sales aren't the same as the buzz they generate. I think they generate more buzz than sales while it can be said that the Spice Girls really did sell ALOT of records, so yes, they are the best selling British music band in the last decade or so...
