Spices & Seasonings - peppers( habinero)

Expert: Renee Aun - 7/23/2008

Question
I added one habinero to a pot of chicken soup, its really too hot now, is there anything I can add to help neutralize or tone down somw of the heat? Thanks!

Answer
Sorry David,

Unless you add more stock and other ingredients, your only recourse is to have a glass of milk with your soup. Next time use a jalapeno, they aren't as hot. Habaneros are for the extreme chili lovers.

Renee Aun
