Question
we plan on grilling shiskabobs on an upcoming camping trip.  I am looking for an easy marinade recipe for the beef so I can soak it overnight so it will be ready when we arrive at our destination.  Just looking for some ideas!  Thanks

Answer
Mollie,  I am more of a dry rub advocate.  You can use a mixture of salt ( sea salt if you have it ), Black Pepper, onion and garlic powder, touch of cayenne and any other seasoning you like. You can put a touch of olive oil for a binder. In a ziplock bag, put meat cubes and the mix. Mix well and refridge over night. This will keep for several days.  When you take out the meat put the peppers, onions or what ever else you plan on putting your shiskabobs in the bag, shake well and then put on stakes.  The dry rubs are not as messy and the salt will open the pores of the meat and allow flavor to penetrate deeper. In the mixture use equal parts of all seasonings except salt and make that one and a half.

Hope this helps,    have a good time on your camping trip.
