Sports Medicine/Knee

My knee has partially dislocated or subluxated, twice in 2 weeks.  Both times I was in a kneeling position and when I went to stand it just buckled.  It was extremely painful forcing it back in.  What's up with my knee and other than wearing braces constantly is there a way I can make it stop?  I'm 37 years old and am not very physically active.  I spend most of my time working on a computer, so I would think stress would be ruled out.

Hi Louis- you should see orthopaedist,to help determine what is wrong. You might have injured the cartilage or tendons. They will determine with exam, X-rays & possible MRI what the problem is. You can take some ibuprophen, maybe 2/-3/day & ice area 2x day until you get diagnosis. (5-10 days), Physical therapy could be reccommended but  GET THE DIAGNOSIS, & no squating until you do.
Hope this helps- good luck, Dr. Bob Weil.
