Question Hi Doc,Not really a sports injury question, but since you are an actual doctor I think you may have more insight. I just got one of those mini trampoline/rebounders at a yard sale. They are supposed to 'stimulate your lympathic system'? I guess just the shaking around of your internal insides? Is there any thruth to this or any other actual health benefit? I am pretty sedentary, and because of knee and back issues, my exercise is stationary bike. I was softly bouncing on it and it did wake up my insides and get things moving around in there. Felt pretty good! Thanks for your thoughts!
Answer Hi Bud- you've caught on to an excellent way to stimulate the lymphatic system. Chinese medicine & Tai Chi practice "shake" exercises to accomplish this along with stimulating all internal organs. Rebounding is also a safe way to enhance balance & stability of your feet, ankles, knees, & back with creation of low impact exercise. Good move- I think you will be surprised with the results- just be consistent & in the beginning, not too aggressive. Hope this helps... Good luck, Dr. Bob Weil
