My MRI RESULT ARE GRADE 2 INTRAMENISCAL DEGENERATION INVOLVING THE POSTERIOR HORN AND PERIPHERAL BODY OF THE MEDIAL MENISCUS. NO DEFINITE EXTENTION TO AN ARTICULAR SURFACE. TENDINOSIS INVOLVING THE PROXIMAL PATELLAR TENDON, MODERATE BAKER'S CYST (6.0 CM. SURGERY IS RECOMMENDED FOR THIS KIND OF INJURIES?

H Beatriz- These " wear & tear" problems & their treatments are very subjective. Your age, activity levels are all important factors. My suggestion is to be sure to get a 2nd opinion which would include possible physical therapy, & other non surgical conservative methods.  If pain & disability are what you are dealing with then surgery, if no improvement, might be best but I would for sure ask your Dr. About options. Make sure you get Orthopaedic surgeon opinion along with possible physiatrist ( physical medicine MD) consult. Chiropractic might also help. Hope this helps- good luck,.. Dr. Bob Weil
