Question
hey there,
i was rooting through my old hockey card collection and came across two cards which i am sure are of some value.

one is a Rob Niedermayer "sign of the times" upper deck card signed by Niedermayer himself.  the back of the card has a note by Brian M. Burr of Upper Deck certifying the card's authenticity.

the second is a Score 91 "season leader" 163 points card of Wayne Gretzky from when he played for the Los Angeles Kings.  the card was autographed by Gretzky when i met him as a child at Danforth Tech High School where he held some sort of meet-and-greet/presentation.  the only flaw in the card is a bend along the bottom right corner.

any information you can give me regarding the worth of either of these cards would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance,
Jordan Circosta

Answer
Aloha Jordan,

Thanks for the question and for using AllExperts.com.

Your Rob Niedermayer autograph has a Book Value (BV) of $15.00.

Your Wayne Gretzky autograph.  I would put a BV of about $50.00.  The reason this price is low is because there is no "official" authenticity.  If the card was authenticated like your Neidermayer, it would have a BV of several hundred dollars.

If your plan is to sell, please remember that no one pays BV for their memorabilia.  The Sell Value (SV) is normally between 40-50% of the BV.

Hope this helps.
