Sports Trading/Collect Cards - baseball cards value?

Expert: Craig Webb - 4/20/2009

Question
i have topps baseball cards.full uncut sheets from 1991 through 1994.what are they worth and where could i sell them?

Answer
Ronald,

First...Thanks for the question and for using AllExperts.com.

I have been doing some looking around and asking fellow collectors in my area and the same has been coming in, uncut sheets are unique and hard to estimate what they are really worth.  The Obvious conclusion is the more "star" players that are contained on a particular sheet would make it more desirable...but the sheets that you are asking about were produced during what some in the hobby call the flood.  Basically from 1988 to about 1997 or so most card companies "flooded" the card market with tons of products, meaning supply far exceeded demand.

As far as selling these sheets...you can always try online auctions that is were you will get the most attention, or try sports card shops in your area...they would make a good "display" for any decent shop or they may try to sell them for you on consignment.

Again the hard part is the value...I am still waiting responses from a couple of my other friends, but I can answer that question with "ballpark" estimates...but I don't really have a basis for my estimates, so the ballpark from my experience is between $5.00 to $15.00 for each sheet...again take into consideration the players pictured as stated earlier.

Always remember though if you are looking to sell your card(s) or if you want to buy, these values are just a reference point developed by "average" secondary market sales...if you are a bottom line type of person your card(s) are really worth what you are willing to accept for them or what you are willing to pay.

I hope that this helps a little, Happy collecting!!!

Craig
