Question I have found in my attic 15 out of a set of 24 8"x10" basketball posters issued by Topps in 1968. Walt Frazier, Joe Caldwell, Willis Reed, Elvin Hayes, Jeff Mullins, Oscar Robertson, Dave Bing, Jerry Sloan, Lew Alcindor, John Havlicek, Lou Hudson, Earl Monroe, Wes Unseld, Tom Van Arsdale, Len Chappell is who I have. I don't know who is missing in the set. They are yellowed and a few are a bit tattered but they have been in plastic sleeves since the mid-1970's when I was in high school. Any idea of their value?
Answer Thank you for allowing me to answer your question. Unfortunately, I could not find any information on the posters. One thing that I do know is, they are a real find and would be of considerable value to a vintage Basketball card collector. The Hall of Famers in the group would be the most valuable. The ones that I know off the Topp of my head :) would be Frazier, Reed,Robertson,Bing,Alcindor,Havlicek, and maybe Monroe, Unseld and Hayes. I would not be surprised if the Alcindor poster was worth $50.00 if it is in great ship. The others such as Robertson, Havlicek, and Reed would be maybe $20.00. Please remember that I am only speaking off the top of my head and do not know for sure. There are many reputable dealers of this type of material on the net who would give you a fair price. They are in the business to make money so their offers would be only a percentage of the real value. You could put a couple of them on ebay and I would guess that you would get quite a few bids depending on condition. There are probably very few of these left and a collector would jump at the opportunity to add 15 to his collection at one shot. I hope that this helps you a little. Bill Radvansky
