controls for pests and diseases.
I have a large indoor tree that grew so high, when i came home from a short trip the stems had fallen over and broken. I cut them and placed them in water. the stems are about 3 feet long. I put them in a water cooler bottle about 5 weeks ago. They are growing roots. How long do they have to be before I put them back in a pot?
Answer You can transplant them into a pot now. Be sure to use a fertile potting soil in a 12" pot with a drainage hole. You also need to keep the seedling in a humid environment. You can mist the plants several times per day to achieve the same effect. The plant should be located in an area of the house that will get 6-8 hours of sunlight per day. A southwest window is perfect. If this is not possible, you will need to use fluorescent lighting placed 3-5" above the plant. Finally, make sure the soil is kept moist but not soaked. Overwatering will kill the plant.
By next spring, the plants should be mature enough to transplant outdoors.
