Question

Stained Glass Window
Hi Mr. Rothman,
This is a window in my friends home that she would like to sell before it gets any more damage. Can you tell me the artist or if it's worth being taken out and sold? The house was built in 1889 and the window is original. It is in three panels.

Answer
In the late 1800's, early 1900's stained glass was a fairly common item to put in homes. There were 100's of companies all over the US making your type of window. If the 3 windows were in perfect condition they might be worth $2500-$3500. If they need repairs, as you say, you can expect to pay a professional studio $50-$75 per hour for labor. So if it take a week to take out the windows and repair them, there will not be much if any profit left.
I would suggest that your friend repair the windows and leave them in the house.  It's original things like these that sell the house.
