Stained Glass - Cutting Old Glass

Question
I have been given glass that has been sitting in an unheated garage for 35+ years. She warned me when giving it that it may not be good as "old glass shatters"

Is this really a problem? Do age and storage conditions affect the glass?

Thank you

Answer
hi diane good question glass does not go bad from age or storage i have a lot of glass that is older than a hundred years and cuts like it was made yesterday.in fact i use glass that i bought 20 years ago every day.i will give you a tip when cutting glass if it is very cold like in winter i put my glass on my lite table the warmth from the light bulbs warms it a bit and helps with the cutting.temperature is the only thing that affect's the cutting this even happen's with glass that was just made yesterday.your lucky to get the old glass i'm jealous.PS PLEASE RATE ME
