Stained Glass - Stained Glass

Question
I recently bought a white "aluminium" door for the front of my house and it has a triangle clear glass insert right in the middle. It iritates me b/c I assume people can look thru tis spot and would like to cover this tiangle by putting a stained glass insert into this space.. how exactly would I go by doing this. I have all the materials and design ready but cant figure out how to set it all up!

Answer
This is a hard question to answer since I don't know for sure about the door and I'm not sure what you have in mind with the glass, but....
1) look on the inside of the door around the window and see if there is a way to remove the trim that goes around the hole. If so then you can add your colored glass in the exact size of the other glass and then replace the trim.  You may have to remove the other glass so that the trim will go back into place.  And if your new glass is a lot thicker than the old you may still have a problem.

2) if you cannot remove any trim to remove the original glass then measure well and cut the new glass to fit inside the hole opening and insert the stained glass piece and you can us some small nails like you would install art into a frame.  Some people would also use some glue, but I don't like digging out glue later, so I do not use any glue.

NOTE:  ON EITHER OF THE ABOVE I would suggest that you make a cardboard pattern so that you know exactly which size will work best, not a paper pattern but a cardboard pattern.

good luck and I hope, I answer your question. If not respond and we
will try again.
