Stained Glass/warped panel

Question
I have an antique window panel prox 15 x 27 that is no longer flat. (I guess
you could say it would look like a very shallow bowl if laid horizontally). It
appears to have happened gradually rather than from a particular accident as
it is very evenly misshapen. I already removed it from the wood frame since I
want to make a new frame that would be more attractive. Is there a way to
flatten the stained glass panel back to it's original shape?

Answer
hi ron the lead in the window has stretched this happen's to old window's over a long period of time.but if the window is newer it will happen if the artist does not stretch the lead came before making the window.antway the window must be out of the frame to flatten itonce it is out of the frame lay it on a piece of old rugwith the flatest side down then gently press it flat be very gentle so you don't break glass pieces.do not just press in one spot move around the panel very gently apply pressure till it flatten's.you might also apply hot et towel's to it ring them out then lay them onon high spot's then apply gentle pressure i can't stress the gentle part enought.if you take your time and don't push to hard all at once you should be fine.when it is flat it will be larger than it was and will not fit in frame unless you chisel the frame to the size of the panel.let me know how you make out i really like to hear from people i help and if you like please rate me
