Question

replacement window

I would like to replace an existing transom window (plain glass with hinged aluminum frame) above my front door with a stained glass panel. Once I remove the old window and frame, can I install a contemporary stained glass panel with a metal frame into the wood framed opening? If yes, can you provide directions for installation?

Answer
Dear Dana,

Yes, you can do that, but due to the difference in sizes either the panel or the opening will require modification. I can not provide you with instructions until I know 'which' is going to be modified and what type of framing you intend to use for the stained glass. I can provide you with a commercial frame that can be either stationary or operable.
