Subject: Stain removal on couch

Question
My son just threw up Red Gatorade on our microfiber couch. What can I use to clean the couch and remove the odors?

Thank you!

Answer
Heather,  Red Gatorade is basically red dye.  The one positive thing is microfiber is very cleanable.  Make a cleaning solution with an ounce of non bleaching liquid laundry detergent and water.  Use a 16 oz. spray bottle.  Spray the area and agitate it.  If you have a toothbrush you don't need, that would be perfect.  Then blot the spot with a dry white towel.  If that doesn't work, try to get the couch in an area with some sun.  Sunlight will break down red dyes.
