Question
hello, thank you for looking at my question. i guess this would kinda be a furniture stain question only its my leather seat in my car. a few months ago my husband thought he would help out and clean my car for me, great right? well he went to clean the leather seats and of all things he sprayed grease lightning directly on my leather and it instantly changed the color to a lighter tan than the origanol tan. is there anything i could use or any way to repair this damage or am i  stuck with a seat that has spray markings on it? also whats a good leather restorer that i can find reasonably priced at like walmart or somewhere like that? thank you again for any advice you give me. thanks, Laura

Answer
Laura,

The problem you have is that the greased lightning took color out of the leather.  The only thing you can try is to call the car dealer and see if they sell a leather dye for your seat.  That's the only way the color will match correctly.  As far as leather restorers, if you're talking about keeping the leather in good shape you can buy a leather conditioner at most hardware stores.  This won't fix the color though.  The only way to do that is with leather dye.  If you can't get it from the car dealer, try a store that sells leather furniture.  Just keep in mind it probably won't be a perfect match, but it still should make it look better.

Todd
