Question Hi Todd, I have brown laminate floor in my livingroom. I noticed that everytime I clean it with laminate floor cleaner, it leaves streaks on the floor. The other day I decided to mop the floor with a string mop and hot water. I made sure the mop had no excess water, and it left the floor very clean and with no streaks. But is it ok to clean laminate floor with water? can it damage the floor? what type of laminate floor cleaner can I use that won't leave streaks. what is the proper way to clean laminate flooring?
Answer Elsa,
It is OK to use water on a laminate floor as long as you're careful. You have to make sure you don't get it overly wet or leave it wet for more than a couple minutes. The floor has no problem with water, but you want to make sure no water gets under the floor. As long as you're careful about excess water and drying it quickly, you won't have a problem.
