Question Hi Todd, I saw a similar question on this site, maybe you can help me. We have very generic white and black vinyl flooring in our bathroom. We put down some bath mats with rubber backing. The rubber backing reacted with the vinyl and left a yellow discoloration under all the mats! In addition, we have an office chair in the bathroom and the rubber wheels on the chair have left the same yellow marks. I have tried regular floor cleaners and full-on bleach but to no avail. Do you have any ideas? Thanks so much.

Answer Karen,
Is there a wax finish on the floor? Sometimes wax finishes will yellow from being covered or from wear. It sounds like something that's on the tile is reacting. If you've used bleach, there's nothing stronger to use. If it is from wax, you can strip the wax off. You can buy a bottle of stripper from a hardware store. If this is the case, you should re-wax the floor after you remove the old wax.
