Stains, Mopping, Wiping, Ironing, Cleaning - wood stain

Expert: Todd Malin - 10/4/2009

Question
Have pumpkin juice on a cherry wood table, believe it haS varnish on table. Have white cloudy stain. What is the best way to remove?

Answer
Kay,

If it's a whitish spot, the acid from the pumpkin juice probably damaged the varnish.  The only way to get it back to normal is to remove the varnish and redo it.  How to remove it depends on what kind of varnish and how long it's been on the table.  Sometimes you can just sand it off and then re-apply a new coat of varnish.

Todd
