Stains, Mopping, Wiping, Ironing, Cleaning/Stain on wall

Question
Hello! I moved a chair today and noticed a stain on my wall. My wall is an off-white color, and my chair is a swirl of dark colors. The stain is a streak of greenish-blue. I took a Magic Eraser and that got rid of some of it, but it's still noticeable. First of all, what is the stain? Dye from the back of the chair?? And second, how to rid the wall of it for good?! Thanks!

Answer
Christy,

The stain is probably dye from the chair.   Maybe from the chair rubbing up against the wall.  If the paint is washable, try sponging it off with a water/soap combination.  You can use anything that's made for washing a hard surface, as long as your paint is washable.  If you're not sure, take some water and very lightly rub a corner somewhere out of the way to check if the paint comes off.  If the paint is not washable or if the spot doesn't come out from this solution, you may have to re-paint that area.  Dye sometimes doesn't come out from cleaning.
