Question
QUESTION: Hi there,
I made the mistake of leaving a tuna mayo roll in a brown
paper bag on my computer table. The grease has leaked
through and made a stain on the surface. What can I use to
remove the stain?

Thank you,

Susan

ANSWER: What kind of surface?  Wood, metal, plastic?

QUESTION: It's a plastic coating over MDF

Answer
SORRY, I see now that you had MDF in the subject.  HERE, (Southern US) we just call that fiber board.

With a plastic coating on it I don't see why you'd have anything from tuna and mayo that wouldn't come off with just a little water and ammonia, BUT, if the water saturates the fiber board it could cause separating.

Proceed cautiously using small amounts.  Given that (according to Rowan Atkinson) you eat tuna as just tuna and mayo it's likely the spot you have is oil.  Try some alcohol on it and then some ammonia and then a detergent that is designed to remove grease.  Be careful you don't put something on it so strong that it melts through the plastic.

Let me know what works.
