Stains, Mopping, Wiping, Ironing, Cleaning - Sunscreen Stain

Expert: Bern - 5/6/2009

Question
QUESTION: How do you get rid of those tough orange stains left on clothing? I've tried Spray & Wash, Shout, vinegar with no luck.

ANSWER: Tell me more.  Is this sun screen or a tanning product?  I've never used a sun screen with a color to it except some zinc oxide I used snow skiing.

Is it that cheddar cheese yellow/orangish color?

---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------

QUESTION: I use suncreen 45 or higher. I have many tattoos that I protect from fading with it. I believe the culprit ingredient is "Avobenzone".The suncreen goes on your skin  milky white and goes clear after applied.Yes. The cheddar cheese yellow/orangish "Cheesy Poofs" color shows up on light colored fabrics after washing.

Answer
My best guess is you have a sunscreen with a "tanner" in it.  That would be some kind of pigment or dye for your skin.  If that's the case it may be that you are stuck with trying to bleach it out or live with it.  A politician here recently referred to another politician known for his constant spray tan as being a man of color just not one known to nature.  This may be your situation.  Artificial dyes.
