Question The cat knocked over a hurricane lamp that had lamp oil in it. I blotted it with numerous paper towels as best I could and thought I got most of it. The next day there is no stain but the carpet is "puckered". The house is for sale...help! Thanks.
Answer What I think has happened from your description is that the carpet in that area has de-laminated. Carpeting is made like a sandwich with different layers held together with latex adhesive. One of a few things will need to be done. EITHER latex will need to be injected into the puckered area and then the area held flat as it dries, OR the area will need to be removed and replaced, possibly with carpeting from a closet. IF it has not de-laminated then it needs to be stretched. I really think you need a pro for this one.
GOOD LUCK and let us know how it works out for you.
