Stains, Mopping, Wiping, Ironing, Cleaning - How can I remove red stains from white walls?

Expert: Bern - 6/30/2009

Question
It recently stormed and we'd left the windows open. The red curtains got soaked and stained the beige-colored walls red!!! How can I get these stains off without removing the paint? Thanks so much for any advice!!

Answer
Depends a lot on if your paint is washable.  Cheaper paint is not.

Try using warm soapy water.  If that does not work take a sample of your paint to a paint store.  Nowadays they have computers that are able to match the paint and you can repaint.

Good luck.
