Stains, Mopping, Wiping, Ironing, Cleaning - bath towels

Expert: Todd Malin - 9/8/2009

Question
Can you tell me any way that I can remove grungy dirt stains from my wash cloths and towels? I have a husband who can get these the dirtiest I have ever seen.

Answer
Patricia,

First thing to try is to leave the towels soak in the washer for about 30 minutes before you let it run.  Put the detergent in, let it fill up and start agitating a little to mix the detergent up, and then leave the lid open and let the towels soak for a while.  If that doesn't work, you can try  bleach, but don't use very much. Usually the bleach won't damage the towels if you're careful not to use too much because the bleach gets rinsed out quickly in the washer.

Hope this helps,

Todd
