I have been researching the "Art of stain removal" for years; trying to find just the right combination of products that will work. I have a lot of "homemade" solutions and ones that require searching for the product (but I can guide you). I work with fabrics, carpets, leathers, car seats, etc.

Years of self research and years of having a cleaning business

Question
Hi,

I have a fiberglass tub/shower that is very filty.
What would you recommend to clean the fiberglass tub/shower?
After fiberglass tub/shower is clean, what would you recommend to make the fiberglass tub/shower easier to clean: car waxes?

Answer
Good Day to You and Thanks for asking your question!!

On fiberglass, I use "Humidifier Cleaner" to remove the soap scum and lime (hard water) deposits.  I put it in a spray bottle (non-diluted or with a little water in it) then spray on a section about 1 sq. foot-use the "scrubbing side" of a sponge-one of those that has the finest green scrubber on one side and don't rub very hard -and scrub the area. Rinse with water and continue until all is done.
Now--How do you KEEP it that way?? There are 3 ways to keep this from occurring again:
 1.  Mix some distilled water (you can find this by the gallon and refillable at most grocery stores) with "Jet Dry" yes, the stuff for dishwashers! Each and EVERY time you finish a shower-rinse all walls with regular water then spray a mist of this solution.
 2.  When you finish cleaning, as above, use a car wax over the entire area.  Water should "bead" off.  For best results-use a squeegee after each shower.
 3.  Use an extra towel and dry off walls and tub after each use. I find this doesn't really take much time.  Getting the kids to do it--Well-THAT may take some time!!
