About Sijka Expertise I have been researching the "Art of stain removal" for years; trying to find just the right combination of products that will work. I have a lot of "homemade" solutions and ones that require searching for the product (but I can guide you).
I work with fabrics, carpets, leathers, car seats, etc.

Question Hi. My friend borrowed my van for a week while she was out of town, and when she brought it back , it smelled awful. She spilled more than two gallons of Kerosene in the carpet in my van and it has soaked in there for a week and she never bothered to soak it up or anything! Could you please give me some tips on how to get the kerosene and the smell out? thanks
Answer Kerosene has to evaporate to release the smell.
You could put baking soda on the area, put a fan in the van, crack the windows and let the fan blow for a couple of days-this should help the evaporation process.
If that doesn't work, you might try "Simple Green". Spray the mixture on the area and do the same thing as above.
I have found that "Ozium" is a great product to get odors out of anywhere. You might try spraying it on the area (it does not stain) and proceed like above.
Please let me know what works-if anything!!
If none of those work, your friend should pay for a complete inside detailing of your van.
